Sky Dish & Digibox - Update

BBC1 channels are now no longer postcoded meaning you can now watch any regional channel of your choosing. The only problem still comes with live sport on BBC1 Scotland which is explained below. Wherever you live Channel 101 on Sky will be your local BBC Station.

If you wish to access another channel for regional programmes, news, or local Sports News;
941 BBC1 Scotland
942 BBC1 Wales
943 BBC1 Northern Ireland
944 BBC1 London
945 BBC1 Northeast & Cleveland
946 BBC1 Yorkshire
947 BBC1 East Yorks. & Lincolnshire
948 BBC1 Northwest
949 BBC1 West Midlands
950 BBC1 East Midlands
951 BBC1 Eastern East Anglia
952 BBC1 Western East Anglia
954 BBC1 South
955 BBC1 Oxfordshire
956 BBC1 West
957 BBC1 Southwest

The only station missing from the above is BBC1 Southeast which is our local channel and is probably channel 953.

Live Sport – for all the Rangers addicts out there, the never ending contractual dispute with BBC1 Scotland means you still cannot view any of the Sportscence live Saturday or Sunday afternoon games. When Saturday evening Sportscence returns like Match of the Day, you should then be able to watch extended highlights of the days Premier League action.

During Final Score in England at around 5pm, BBC1 Scotland do show all of the goals plus the odd other highlight from that afternoons Premier League. (Full Scottish Division One highlights are shown on Border, Scottish TV and Grampian). Follow the link at the bottom of this page to tune your digibox in to get these channels

I don’t think this dispute extends to Rugby so if England were without a game you could watch Scotland play France rather than endure Wales play the Potato hoking gypsies.

Sadly with the ever worsening performance of the Northern Ireland team, neither BBC1 or BBC2 Northern Ireland seem to broadcast their games live. Highlights are normally on BBC1 NI very late. For any Linfield, Glentoran, Portadown and Bangor fans there’s a good sports round up during the regional news programme between 6.30 and 7.00pm on Monday’s or any day following a match.

For those so inclined the majority of Welsh games are covered by BBC2 Wales and you can normally watch these.

Check out our earlier Skydish page for details of tuning your Sky digibox to pick up all regional ITV channels to find out the latest on your favourite team if you don’t live locally.
